The Christmas Cheer Board and Focus Hyundai

What is the Christmas Cheer Board?

The Christmas Cheer Board is a local Winnipeg charitable organization that provides Winnipeg families with hampers around the holiday season.  The Christmas Cheer Board utilizes approximately 5000 volunteers each year to assemble and deliver upwards of 18,000 hampers to local families in need.  These hampers include things like basic groceries, all the trimmings for a holiday feast and toys for kids under 14.

The Christmas Cheer Board relies on donations of food, toys, knitted items and cash from individuals, organizations and businesses. Approximately 50% of the hamper items are donated and the other 50% are purchased using donations.  Without the many volunteers and generous donors, The Christmas Cheer Board would not be able to bring a little Christmas cheer to families in need.

How does Focus Hyundai and Focus Autobody & Glass support The Christmas Cheer Board?

Each year Focus Hyundai and Focus Autobody & Glass apply to The Christmas Cheer Board to sponsor 4 families in need.  This year we were matched up with families ranging in size from 3 to 6.  The families were then assigned to Sales, Parts & Administration, Service and Focus Autobody & Glass.  Each department is responsible for collecting all the necessary items and assembling their hampers. Once all the hampers have been complied, we will make arrangements to deliver the hampers to the assigned families.

Why do we support The Christmas Cheer Board?

Over the past few years, there has been a greater and greater need for charities such as The Christmas Cheer Board.  There are a wide variety of reasons that an individual or family might find themselves using The Christmas Cheer Board.  We have noticed this need and feel that we have been very fortunate over the past few years and feel that giving back to the community that supports us is the right thing to do.
